Atomoxet 18mg – Atomoxetine Tablets

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Atomoxet 18mg is used to treat Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children over 6 years, adolescents, and adults. It improves focus, attention span, and helps control impulsive behaviors.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Atomoxet contains Atomoxetine, a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI). It increases the levels of norepinephrine in the brain, which helps enhance concentration, behavior control, and mental alertness.

HOW TO USE?
Take Atomoxet 18mg once or twice daily as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water. It can be taken with or without food, ideally at the same time each day. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Decreased appetite, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, sleep issues
Less common: Mood swings, high blood pressure, fast heartbeat
Serious (rare): Liver damage, suicidal thoughts, severe allergic reactions
Notify your doctor immediately if any serious side effects occur.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as remembered. If it’s near the time of your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

PRECAUTIONS

• Not suitable for people with severe cardiovascular disorders, glaucoma, or liver impairment

• Use with caution if there's a history of mental health issues

• Monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and mood changes regularly

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• Chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or fainting

• Jaundice (yellowing of skin/eyes)

• Severe anxiety, hallucinations, or suicidal thoughts

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are using:

• MAO inhibitors, antidepressants, or blood pressure medicines

• Asthma treatments or CNS stimulants
  Potential interactions may affect safety and effectiveness.

FOOD RESTRICTIONS
No specific food restrictions. Can be taken with or without meals. Limit alcohol intake to avoid worsening side effects like drowsiness or impaired concentration.

HOW TO STORE?
Store at 15–30°C, in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

PREGNANCY CATEGORY
Category C – Use only if clearly needed and prescribed. Consult your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
