Atomoxet 25mg – Atomoxetine Tablets

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Atomoxet 25mg is used to treat Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children over 6 years, adolescents, and adults. It helps improve attention span, concentration, and impulse control, enhancing overall daily performance.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Atomoxet contains Atomoxetine, a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI). It works by increasing norepinephrine levels in the brain, helping regulate behavior and attention in people with ADHD.

HOW TO USE?
Take Atomoxet 25mg once or twice daily as directed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Do not chew or crush the tablet.

SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Dry mouth, decreased appetite, nausea, insomnia, fatigue
Less common: Dizziness, mood swings, increased heart rate or blood pressure
Serious (rare): Liver issues, suicidal thoughts, allergic reactions
Report any unusual or severe symptoms to your healthcare provider.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not take two doses at once.

PRECAUTIONS

• Avoid use if you have severe cardiovascular issues, glaucoma, or liver disease

• Use with caution in patients with a history of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts

• Regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and behavioral changes is recommended

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Seek immediate help if you experience:

• Chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or shortness of breath

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (possible liver damage)

• Suicidal thoughts or mood changes

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are taking:

• MAO inhibitors, antidepressants, or antihypertensives

• Asthma medications or CNS stimulants
  Some drug combinations may increase the risk of side effects.

FOOD RESTRICTIONS
No major restrictions. Can be taken with or without food. Limit alcohol, as it may intensify side effects like drowsiness or mental fog.

HOW TO STORE?
Store at 15–30°C, away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

PREGNANCY CATEGORY
Category C – Use only if clearly prescribed. Discuss risks if pregnant or breastfeeding.
