Prilosec

Prilosec – Omeprazole Tablets

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?

Prilosec is used to treat heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and stomach or duodenal ulcers. It helps relieve symptoms caused by excess stomach acid, such as burning sensation, difficulty swallowing, and discomfort after meals.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Prilosec contains Omeprazole, a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach, allowing ulcers and damaged esophagus to heal, and preventing acid-related complications.

HOW TO USE?

Take one capsule daily, preferably before a meal, or as directed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole with water — do not crush or chew.
For best results, take it at the same time each day.

SIDE EFFECTS

Common: Headache, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness
Rare: Rash, liver problems, vitamin B12 deficiency, allergic reactions
Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe or persistent side effects.
