Azax 500mg – Azithromycin Tablets
WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Azax 500mg is an antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, throat infections, sinusitis, ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria and helping the body fight infection.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Azax contains Azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which prevents bacteria from growing and multiplying, thereby clearing the infection effectively.
HOW TO USE?
Take Azax 500mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is usually taken once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve earlier to prevent antibiotic resistance.
SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, headache
Rare: Severe allergic reactions, liver problems, irregular heartbeat
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience rash, severe diarrhea, jaundice, or breathing difficulty.
WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Get immediate medical help if you develop severe allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, yellowing of eyes/skin, or irregular heartbeat.
CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are taking:

Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium

Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin)

Heart rhythm medicines
Drug interactions may require dose adjustment or monitoring.
FOOD RESTRICTIONS
Can be taken with or without food. Avoid antacids within 2 hours of taking Azax 500mg, as they may reduce absorption.
HOW TO STORE
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
