WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Finax 1mg is a synthetic antiandrogen, prescribed for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate cancer, and hair loss. It prevents testosterone conversion in to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Finasteride lowers prostate growth by lowering testosterone levels. It helps hair regrowth and slows hair loss.
HOW TO USE?
PO- The recommended dose is 5 mg orally once a day. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Change in sex ability. This most often goes back to normal. A fast growing prostate cancer may rarely happen.
WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug.
PRECAUTIONS:
Finasteride must not be taken by children or women. Alert your doctor if you ever had prostate cancer. - Do not donate blood while being treated with Finasteride.
WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
If you think there was an overdose, call your local poison control center or ER right away. Signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. A lump in the breast, breast soreness, or nipple discharge. Any rash. Side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
FOOD RESTRICTIONS:
Avoid Alcohol.
HOW TO STORE:
Store it at room temperature (30°C).
