Angiotensin 5mg – Enalapril Maleate Tablets
WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Angiotensin 5mg is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. It helps prevent complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage, especially in patients with diabetes.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Angiotensin contains Enalapril, an ACE inhibitor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme inhibitor). It lowers blood pressure by blocking the enzyme that tightens blood vessels, allowing them to relax and improve blood flow.
HOW TO USE?
Take one tablet of Angiotensin 5mg once or twice daily as prescribed. It can be taken with or without food at the same time each day. Swallow with water. Do not stop without consulting your doctor.
SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Dizziness, dry cough, fatigue, headache
Less common: Rash, low blood pressure, elevated potassium levels
Serious: Swelling of face, lips, or throat (angioedema), kidney dysfunction
WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s near your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not take two doses at once.
PRECAUTIONS

Chest pain or irregular heartbeat
-
Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are using:
-

-
Diuretics or other blood pressure medicines
-
NSAIDs or lithium
These may increase the risk of side effects or reduce effectiveness.
