Amlode 10mg – Amlodipine Tablets

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Amlode 10mg is prescribed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chronic stable angina (chest pain). It helps reduce the risk of heart attacks, stroke, and other cardiovascular complications.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Amlode contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, which improves blood flow and reduces the heart's workload.

HOW TO USE?
Take one tablet of Amlode 10mg once daily, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Follow your doctor’s instructions closely.

SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Dizziness, headache, swelling of ankles/feet, flushing, tiredness
Rare: Irregular heartbeat, severe allergic reactions, chest pain
Report any unusual or severe side effects to your doctor immediately.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's close to your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

PRECAUTIONS

• Use cautiously in patients with liver disease, heart failure, or low blood pressure

• May cause dizziness—avoid driving or using heavy machinery until you know how it affects you

• Inform your doctor if you're pregnant or breastfeeding

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Seek urgent help if you experience chest pain, fainting, severe dizziness, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are taking:

• Other blood pressure or heart medications

• Antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole)

• Antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin)

• Simvastatin (dose adjustments may be required)
  Some drugs may interact and affect how Amlode works.

FOOD RESTRICTIONS
Can be taken with or without food. Avoid grapefruit juice, as it may increase the risk of side effects.

HOW TO STORE
Store at room temperature (15–30°C), in a dry place, away from moisture and sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

PREGNANCY CATEGORY
Category C – Use only if clearly needed under medical advice. Consult your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
