Alfusin 10mg

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?

Alfusin 10mg is used in men to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, which include difficulty urinating, painful urination, and urinary frequency and urgency. It is used to treat kidney stones.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Alfuzosin calms muscles of the prostate and bladder to allow the urine to flow more easily.

HOW TO USE?

It is usually taken once a day, immediately after a meal. If you are taking Alfuzosin for the very first time, take it just before you sleep. Thereafter, take it as instructed by your doctor.Try to take it at the same time each day. Swallow Alfuzosin whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Alfuzosin must be taken regularly for it to be effective.Continue taking it even when there are signs of improvement. Do not stop taking Alfuzosin unless instructed by the doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Feeling dizzy, Headache, Feeling tired or weak, Change in sex ability.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?

Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug.

PRECAUTIONS:

Alert your doctor if you have liver disease, if you or your family members have ever had prostate cancer, if you have low blood pressure or if you have ever fainted or felt dizzy when you get up from a sitting or lying down position.

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?

Seek help if you think there was an overdose or signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue or gray skin color; seizures; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Alert your doctor if you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, very bad dizziness or passing out; Chest pain or pressure; Very bad headache; Dark urine or yellow skin or eyes; or Any rash.

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?

Do not take antifungals such as itraconazole and ketoconazole, or antivirals such as ritonavir together with Alfuzosin. Do not take Alfuzosin if you have taken other similar medicines, such as doxazosin or prazosin. Alert your doctor if you are taking any medicines, especially those listed here: high blood pressure medicines. heart medicines, such as nitrates. epilepsy medicines, such as carbamazepine, phenytoin or phenobarbitone. antibiotics, such as clarithromycin, erythromycin or rifampicin. medicines for erection problems, such as sildenafil, taladafil or vardenafil. mood medicines, such as nefazodone, thioridazine or ziprasidone. cimetidine (a gastric medicine). Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.

FOOD RESTRICTIONS:

Avoid Alcohol.

HOW TO STORE:

Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.

PREGNANCY CATEGORY:

Category B: Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women OR Animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
