WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Actoid 25mg is used to treat severe psoriasis.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Acitretin is in a class of medications called retinoids. It reduces abnormal growth of skin cells that causes red, thickened, or scaly skin.
HOW TO USE?
It is usually taken once a day with food. Take it around the same time every day. It controls psoriasis but does not cure it. It may take 2-3 months before you feel the full benefit. Continue to take the drug even if you feel well. Do not stop it without talking to your doctor.

High cholesterol level; High triglyceride level; Mouth irritation or sores; Nose irritation; Skin irritation; Eye irritation; Hair loss
WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
PRECAUTIONS:
Do not take the drug if you had an allergic reaction to the medication in the past. Stop taking this drug and seek emergency medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; rash; wheezing; itching; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives).
WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Seek help if you think there was an overdose or signs of a very bad reaction to the drug. These include wheezing, chest tightness, fever, itching, bad cough, blue or gray skin color, seizures, or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. Seek help is a side effect or health problem is not better or you are feeling worse.
CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Do not take methotrexate, or tetracycline antibiotics while taking this drug. Tell your doctor about all medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking.
FOOD RESTRICTIONS:
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue with your normal diet.
HOW TO STORE:
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
PREGNANCY CATEGORY:
Category X: Studies in animals or humans have demonstrated fetal abnormalities andor there is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience, and the risks involved in use of the drug in pregnant women clearly outweigh potential benefits.
