WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Accufine 20mg is used to treat severe acne (nodular or cystic) that hasn't responded to other treatments like antibiotics or topical agents.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Accufine contains Isotretinoin, a derivative of Vitamin A. It works by reducing oil gland size and sebum production, preventing clogged pores and reducing inflammation.

HOW TO USE?
Take Accufine exactly as prescribed, usually once or twice daily with food. Swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the capsules.

SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Dry skin, lips, and eyes, nosebleeds, and sensitivity to sunlight.
Serious: Depression, vision changes, severe abdominal pain, liver enzyme changes.
Always inform your doctor about any unusual symptoms.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s near the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double dose.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Avoid donating blood during and 1 month after treatment.

  • Avoid waxing or laser skin treatments.

  • Use effective birth control (for females of childbearing age).

WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?
Seek immediate medical attention for signs of depression, suicidal thoughts, vision changes, or severe allergic reactions.

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you take:

  • Vitamin A supplements (increases toxicity)

  • Tetracyclines (increases risk of intracranial pressure)

  • Steroids or other acne medications

FOOD RESTRICTIONS
Take with meals for better absorption. Avoid alcohol and high-dose Vitamin A foods/supplements.

HOW TO STORE
Store at room temperature (15–30°C) in a dry place, away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
