Atorlip 20mg – Atorvastatin Tablets
WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Atorlip 20mg is used to lower high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, helping reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases. It is especially beneficial for individuals with diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of heart disease.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Atorlip contains Atorvastatin, a statin (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor). It works by blocking the liver enzyme responsible for cholesterol production, effectively lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, while increasing good cholesterol (HDL).
HOW TO USE?
Take Atorlip 20mg once daily, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, ideally at the same time each day for best results. Maintain a low-fat diet during treatment.
SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Headache, muscle pain, joint pain, indigestion
Less common: Fatigue, constipation, nausea
Serious (rare): Liver damage, muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), allergic reactions
Consult your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.
PRECAUTIONS
-
Not recommended for individuals with active liver disease
-
Use with caution in patients with a history of muscle disorders or kidney issues
-
Regular monitoring of liver function and lipid levels is advised
WHEN DO I NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL HELP?

Unusual muscle pain or weakness
-
Dark urine or yellowing of the skin/eyes
-
Severe fatigue or allergic reactions
CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are taking:
-
Antibiotics (clarithromycin, erythromycin)
-
Antifungal medications, HIV treatments, or other cholesterol-lowering drugs
-
Blood thinners or immunosuppressants
These may interact with Atorlip and increase side effects.
FOOD RESTRICTIONS
Avoid grapefruit juice, as it may increase the risk of side effects. Limit alcohol intake to protect liver health. Follow a heart-healthy, low-fat diet.

Store at 15–30°C in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
